Ta pani wie tyle np. o Finlandii co przecietny Amerykanin o geografii Europy. Ciekawe gdzie umiesci Rosje i Szwecje oraz Monaco i San Marino. Takich belkotow sie nawet czytac nie da.
Zapomniala jeszcze o Kosowie. Ciekawe jaka tam panuje dyscyplina budzetowa.
Dla niektorych - Europa to kawalek niekoszernej macy do pokrojenia wdluz i wszerz. -
Ona z drugiej strony , za morzem nie widzi to co polskie,on w galerii vipów nie zna Polski średniego i niskiego pochodzenia-wydaje mu się że Polska to sielanka,a jak ma się to do rzeczywistości to obserwatoży osądzcie sami.

On reflection, after reading Mrs. Applebaum article in the Washington Post, I would like to add some additional comments. She is more perceptive than what I have given her credit for. My first analysis was based on Polish language translation and commentaries, which miss some crucial points, the key points. She had approached the situation from the Realpolitik standpoint; I did it from the moral-ethical standpoint of the struggle between the rich and the poor. She is right. Two blocks seem to be quickly emerging in the European Union: the North, surreptitiously led by Germany and composed by the wealthy and "societies increasing in wealth as do the wealthy" (the American Republican model), and the South, "where private wealth alone increases alongside the perennial public squalor, which traditionally also increases (squalor, for the readers who don''t know, is called "nędza" in Polish) - this latter model is more characteristic of the Appalachia in the South of the United States. Right on the mark! This is what we are seeing, indeed, in Europe. But the Polish commentaries missed two crucial but "concealed", points: (1) że wyłania się widmo "dominacji niemieckiej" w Unii [widmo Ubermensch]; i (2) że "Północ", wzorująca się na Niemcach, patrzy z coraz większą pogardą na euro, który uważa za pszyszłą walutę "Południa" i że za wszelką cenę stara się coraz usilniej zachować własne waluty! I w tym jest różnica pomiędzy przyszłą "Północą" a "Południem", widzianymi w Pani Appelbaum "kryształowej kuli Realpolitiku"!
